Our zinc-clad house refurbishment project in Lewes is now complete. The design uses a special technique where the zinc is laid as individual shingles to create a tiled effect. The zinc is contrasted with treated cedar cladding. The project also includes a substantial side and rear extension, complete renovation of the interior including a new double-height atrium space, new landscaping and a garden studio.
We're delighted to announce that our scheme for First Base in South-West London has received planning consent. Our modern garden studio near Lewes has received planning permission. Designed as a simple, shed-like form clad in black corrugated sheeting, it is designed to contrast with the adjacent main dwelling while sitting comfortably in its semi-rural setting. The interior features a double-height study, sleeping platform, WC and small kitchen space. Start on site will be later this year.
We have submitted a planning application for the refurbishment and extension of Vallance Hall, a former postal sorting office in Hove, to provide enhanced offices for Engleharts Solicitors, and five highly sustainable houses on the plot of land to the rear. The new extensions are expressed in a simple contemporary way that compliments but not mimics the existing building, with brick facades and concrete detailing.
We have completed a modest but highly sustainable extension to a house in Old Malling, Lewes. The exterior is clad in black-stained timber, with a zinc roof. The interior has a vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters to give a sense of space and drama, which is completed by the inclusion of doors to all three sides, allowing the space to open up to the beautiful, partially wooded setting on the edge of the Ouse valley.

Great to see that Park Theatre, in Finsbury Park in London, is now fully open and has had great reviews for its first few shows. We collaborated with David Hughes Architects on the design, from concept to working drawings stage. The whole team led by Jez Bond have done a fantastic job taking it through the construction phase. Standing ovation!
We did a revisit to one of our projects that was completed in 2009 - a modern glazed extension in the Wallands area of Lewes. It's now the most-used room in their house and they don't know how they ever lived without it...
